WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORT 1

We have been working on proposing multiple designs by the help of group discussion:


1. Design as proposed by Rajyawardhan :
• This design was based on the concept of the toy “knock me down”.
• The design says that the building should be inside a huge oval shape container whose base is very heavy and rests on earth on a single point.
• The building inside is also based on the same concept.

2. Design as proposed by Rohan and Ankit:
• This design was based on the concept of transportable buildings.
• The building was to be very light and could be carried with the help of large trolleys.


3. Design as proposed by Prakhyat:
• This design was based on the concept of developing a community of buildings all set with a specific reason eg. : There would be separate buildings for entertainment, office, residential etc.
• All the buildings would be connected by ultra fast transportation system.
• All the walking areas would be embedded by voltaic cells for energy generation.
• The buildings would be minimum 300-400 floors.
• In every building few floors will be dedicated to green farming to introduce fresh air and oxygen.
• The floors dedicated to green farming would trace their movement in trajectory of sun.
• Window panels would be replaced by solar panel for energy generation.
• To make it resistant to natural calamities sensors would be installed.
4. Design as proposed by Anshumali:
• This design is based on the concept that everything in the world tries to keep their centre of gravity minimum.
• The design proposes that the shape of the top of the building should pyramidal in the structural design of a diamond molecule(as shown in the figure).
• The atoms signify the working area and the bonds would be tunnels to connect one area to another. They would be installed with modern modes of transportation such as escalators, lifts, trams etc.
• In the triangular spaces turbines should be installed to generate energy through wind.
• All the spaces exposed directly to sun would be installed with solar cells.
• The base would be circular in shape with huge ball bearings. It would rest on a saucer shaped steel plate of almost the same curve as the base.
• It would be almost earthquake resistant and is it is pyramidal in shape it would not be affected by air also.
