1.Through combustion like in a conventional engine.
The hydrogen idea is still in under discussion.
Another idea proposed was to use an easily expandable gas instead of fuel directly to move the pistons but this failed due to the equipment becoming too bulky and the need for seperate fuel tanks and gas tanks.
We also considered some aromatic compounds but the pollution factor ruled them out.
Along with our fuel, we considered modifying the engine by using highly elastic materials to increase efficiency by reducing frictional losses. Teflon was considered first but it turned out to be extremely expensive ans so, was dropped. Neoprene is still under discussion.
2.Through direct rotation like in a turbine.
Both the ideas are still in consideration but we are facing a problem in the fact that we need a compressor to produce enough pressure to rotate the turbines and in case of water turbines, a second compressor to pump the water elsewhere. This makes the arrangement bulky and also calls for another source of power to run the compressors.
We are also considering a dual-fuel system so as to reduce the dependency of the arrangement on external factors such as weather.

We have begun working on our P.D.S. as well and will be submitting it soon.
